Yesterday, lawyer Eva Bezem received the Tomas Weterings Prize. The festive presentation of the award took place during a conference of the Specialist Association of Migration Attorneys in debate center De Balie in Amsterdam.
The Tomas Weterings Prize is a prize that this association awards biannually to a fellow attorney who has distinguished themselves in the field of migration law. In the jury report, the jury praised Eva's commitment to the plight of Surinamese former Dutch citizens in their struggle to obtain Dutch citizenship.
