As of 1 July 2010, the law firm Böhler Franken Koppe Wijngaarden will be known by a new name: Böhler.
Britta Böhler is one of the original founders of the current firm. Her fellow partners at the firm are (in alphabetical order): Victor Koppe, Michiel Pestman, Flip Schüller, Marq Wijngaarden and Prof. Liesbeth Zegveld.
Prof. Göran Sluiter will join the firm as a lawyer on 1 September 2010. He will practice in the area of international criminal law. At the same time, he will continue to be the Professor of International Criminal Law at the University of Amsterdam.
On 1 January 2011, Bart Stapert and Marieke van Eik will become partners at the firm.
Bart Stapert has many years of experience as a lawyer in death penalty cases, including in the US and Indonesia. Until recently, he was chairman of the Dutch section of Amnesty International. Stapert’s practice focuses on complex, transnational legal proceedings that often revolve around human rights issues. In 2007, Marieke van Eik was awarded a prize for being the best young lawyer in the area of asylum and immigration law. As a partner, she will increasingly focus on the area of European law.
